About UTUKN (on 35020) and Promo Edition (running on 35021):

You Think You Know Nigeria (and the various versions) are advertised on AIT, NTA, STV, and Radio Nigeria. The game started in 2007. We have had over 500 winners, with a total wins of over N75,000,000. We have also given out special prizes like lands in Abuja, cars, television and so many others.
Every month, the UTUKN game writers pick a topic to promote for the month. The topic may be about Nigeria’s culture, politics, music, current affairs, etc. The objective is to focus on what is popular for that month. For example, October is always used to promote Nigeria’s achievements since independence; December is used to promote religion/holiday activities (Christian and Muslim); January is always used to promote Nollywood (Music and Movies); and so on. New set of questions are uploaded on the first day of the month and it stays on for the next 30 days.

The questions are multiple choice questions. You participate by replying with A, B, or C to 35021 or 35020. UTUKN is a game of intelligence and not a game of chance. You must answer at least one question correctly before your number can have a chance of being selected a winner.

How the quiz game works:

Step1: You text YES to 35021 to start the game or reply with A, B, or C if you have the starting question. Question 1 is sent to your phone.

Step2: You reply A, B, or C to 35021 A response of Correct or Incorrect + a new question is sent to you.

How winners are selected:

You will get 1 entry into the poll table for each correct answer given. On the last day of the game, the system will randomly select 5 – 15 numbers as the winners for the month. Winners are notified by SMS, followed by a phone call. Do not send cash or credit to anyone.
Please note: GistMe winners are NEVER asked to pay anything to remit their prizes. Any such phone call or text should be treated as 419.
